Adam Short

Approximately 15 miles outside of Dayville Oregon, Murderers Creek flows into the South Fork of the John Day River. Approximately 5 miles up Murderers Creek I recorded a podcast with my old friend Jason Darrah. While huddled under the canopy of Jason’s custom-built Ford E350 4x4 van as a thunder storm brewed in the distance, Jason shares his story of how, over the past ten years, he has evolved into a content creator who has developed quite the following on his YouTube channel, Primal Outdoors. With nearly a quarter million regular followers, Jason combines his love of videography, photography, van living and overlanding while creating regular content that entertains, educates, and informs, as he continues his nomadic lifestyle.  Drifting among the hundreds of thousands of square miles of national forests, wilderness and  public lands that are unique to Oregon and the Pacific NW, Jason has become a significant ambassador for the health and stewardship of our public lands.  In addition to Primal Outdoors, Jason has created a new platform, van-camping.com, where members can say goodbye to commercial interruptions, access GPS data from Jason’s recommended overlanding routes, participate in annual camp outs and have access to Jason through the members only forum.  Thanks for the invitation to join you in Eastern Oregon Jason, It’s clear to me that you channel is becoming less and less about you and more about the experiences you’re having along the way as you encourage others to explore the great outdoors of our great state all while demonstrating and advocating public land stewardship.  It was good to see you old friend, I look forward to the next time our paths cross.
